Hello, I am a Family Life Educator who has had many years of study in research and theory on the ways Humans develop. I am currently working towards finishing my degree at the University o f Utah. Something special about me is that I have actual real life experience in the development of humans, since I have two little humans of my own. Another area of experience is my first hand experience with Autism (through my 8 year old son) and all of the accompanying challenges and triumphs.

My name is Kristin L. For the last three years, I have been a student at the University of Utah, which is a distinguished research university. My area of focus is in Human Development and Family Studies and I have examined topics such as child development, family relationships and interactions, family belief systems, and family policy topics. Currently, I am working toward obtaining my Family Life Education certification and eventually plan on attending graduate school for Social Work. With this is mind, I have always been interested in special needs children, particularly those children who have learning and developmental disabilities, which a section of this blog will cover. Apart from my university experience, I also work for a non-profit agency that provides support for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. I look forward to providing you with some information on these children.

I've had the opportunity to study to become a Family Life Educator at the University of Utah for the past four years. I think our families are one of the biggest influences in our lives and can be one of the best sources of strength. Because of this belief I feel strongly that all children should have the opportunity to be raised in loving family environments, this has lead me to want to learn more about our foster care system- how we can help children and parents adjust to have the best experience possible.
