What is "Family Life Education"?

WHAT IS FAMILY EDUCATION?

Family Life Education brings all the research and theory that the educators have learned and has them apply in the lives of the public population, in a proactive approach. In simpler terms Family Life Education (FLE) is any education that helps the individual live a better life by helping the family unit be the best it can be. To become a Family Life Educator you can be certified through the programs or Universities either through experience or courses completed. Through the NCFR (National Council of Family Relations) you can get an FLE certification 2 ways, through an accredited University or by showing knowledge in the 10 Family life content areas on an Exam, which are:

Families and Individuals in Societal Contexts
Internal Dynamics of Families
Human Growth and Development Across the Lifespan
Human Sexuality
Interpersonal Relationships
Parent Education and Guidance
Family Resource Management
Family Law and Public Policy
Professional Ethics and Practice
Family Life Education Methodology

Through these content areas of  FLE educators can educate the family through religious settings, work setting, school settings, or community settings. The areas that they educate about can vary drastically starting at how a family functions and covering all the way to ethics.
